You need to go to the Trip Reports section and read badguy's report. It's all saggy tits, foul odors, gunts, scars, lousy service and spooge-stained hotel room carpets. Trust me, you'll feel better.

And that's just the rooms EL has stayed in. I would stay home and find a nice MP.

BondTrader-

Not to talk shop, but I can't believe the last 6 weeks. And EVERYONE wants to buy now. Quite frustrating when people claim they saw this coming. Even more frustrating when you put in some shorts last week...

Smell-

Market hurt me bad too and I don't have money in the coffers. Only one thing to do, F it and go. Say this with me, "Phuck it." If you can't say it, you can't do it...

i'm with beachbumm2006, get your a** down to SJO.

since the downturn, i've booked more travel than ever before. usually not a big spender, but it sure beats saving money just to have it disappear without enjoying it.

Market hit you hard lately? You must be short (finance-wise). Right now is a good time to get out, those who are in. The rally may last a while longer but the real economy is headed down and won't really bottom until we're in the 20-teens, if then. Call me an optimist :)

Gentlemen, I gave up my series 7 license almost 8 years ago. I and my clients have better odds at the casino on the crapp table or black jack table. Thanks to light weights in the maket making, the useless SEC and FINRA .

No I don't put my clients money on the games.

I found out years ago it is much safer and more liquid to buy cash flow instraments. Discounting mortgages, structured settlements, lottery winnings, annuities and life insurance. At 60% or less loan to value, a real winner. Yeilds at 12%-28%. Backed by real assets.

My only real asset killer. DIVORCE. Pray you all stay away from that investment.

Amen on the divorce being a killer.

But the downturn in the market has been a good opportunity for me. Not that I have a huge portfolio, but I've been day-trading with low-priced bank stocks and making a few bucks each week; enough to pay for my next two or three trips to SJO anyway.

I had cashed out of most of my stocks several months ago, so had a little cash handy in March when the market bottomed out. (I hope it bottomed out then, anyway.)

Put Options Gentlemen. I am sure this pig of a market is rolling over into a terminal wave down that should last the next five months. I went from net long to net short on 7 May. I would recommend puts on the QQQQ for Sep-Dec with $23-$25 strike prices. An opportunity like this comes along once in 3-4 generations...and this one is long in the tooth.

Cheers,
CH

I have played enough here out of frustration I spent enough to make two trips, (go figure) I do keep six months cash on hand but with a possible disability pending in 4/5 years my Attorney says be prepared for a two year plus battle so I now need two years plus cash on hand. That's gonna be a tad hard!

So Phuck it sounds about right, live today and worry about tomorrow when it gets here! So See ya soon!
