Seriously, I am assuming from his handle "okie"mike that he is from the Ok-Tx-Ar-La (Arklatex) area. I spent much of my life in that area and I will guarantee you there use to be a lot more police and government corruption in that area than there is here. I do not know about right now, but doubt they have cleaned it all up .Yep, he better stay there where he is "safe" from any corruption!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually Im from OKC where the killer tornados are!! No mongering here so to speak but no cops threatening to drop you off in a crack infested neighborhood if you dont pay them $200 either!! Really though, I am looking for a place to go that is relatively safe and lots of girls, not necessarily putas but normal girls that I might be able to meet on my own without shoving $60-80 down their throat along with my penis like most guys on here seem to do. Im not saaying that I wouldnt pay for it because I have in the past but Im kinda beyond that now. I am almost 44 years old still somewhat in shape (in the processing of losing 20lbs before I go) speak marginal spanish and have some game left in me. I am looking for quality and not quantity. If I can find 1 maybe 2 quality chicas to spend time with and pamper while Im there I will be a happy man. I dont care about f'''cking a bunch of 5's that every Tom Dick and Harry just F;;;cked earlier that day and then brag about it to their comrads later that night at the dinner table. Everything that you mentioned you can do without a problem. Although if your looking for a few freebies I'd suggest you learn Spanish beyong marginal. It has no relevance if you have game if it cannot come out

What I would like to do is fly in early Sat. morn from Denver on Frontier Airlines, flight arrives SJO at 5:30 am. Head over to probably La Amistad and wait until I can check in and probably get some rest. Do what ever in SJO until Monday morning then take off either for Jaco or Manuel Antonio for 3 days of fun in the sun. You guys have to tell me where I will have the most fun out of those 2 beach towns. Then head back to SJO probably on Thurs for 3 more night in SJO and fly out on Sun. I dont want to spend all my time in SJO in the gulch. I want to go to malls and museums (which Im not to crazy about) and maybe a couple of (safe) nightclubs where the locals go to try some salsa dancing!!

Yea, I will probably pay for a couple of hookers but I dont want that to be the focal point of my vacation. Anyway....thanks for any help you may have from your adventures..........okiemike

Well if your after girls your not going to have to much fun in Manuel Antonio; permitting you dont bring a girl from San Jose with you.

We don't want to hijack this thread but I'll offer you my own quick take on your situation which I'll bet most vets around here will concur with.

If you want the most P4P or non-P4P nightlife options, then Jaco will definitely be a more fun-filled location. Jmac is absolutely right about having to bring your own female companionship if you stay in MA and you won't have much time to pull that together before you leave SJ. Though it sounds like not having a chica with you might not be the end of the world for you, you'll at least have the option of finding a reasonably priced local chica if you stay in Jaco. The beaches in MA are much nicer than the one in Jaco, but you could always hop on a cheap local bus (just a little over an hour each way) for a day trip to MA from Jaco. If local buses seem too adventurous for you, you could also just hop in a cheap local taxi and drive out to several decent beaches just a few kms outside of Jaco.

For salsa dancing, probably the best and simplest thing for a newbie to do is just go to the Key Largo. Its right across the street from the Blue Marlin and you'll probably be spending a lot of time in there anyway. They have live music bands (usually salsa) starting around 10PM each night. There are lots of ready and willing chica dance partners. And, because most of the other gringos in the place are as lousy dancers (or worse) than you may be, you don't have to feel at all self-conscious about how well you do (or don't do). Sure the girls may want to go back to your hotel with you afterwards, but most will not have any problem at all with a guy who just wants to dance (particularly if you buy them a drink or two, spread it around and don't take up all their time so they can find another paying customer).

It sounds like you're thinking of exploring non-pro possibilities. I'd advise you not to get your hopes up too much with so little time in town to work with, ESPECIALLY if you don't speak much spanish. Brush up on whatever you can before you go.

If you don't want to make mongering the focal point of your vacation, then I'm probably one of the odd-ducks around here that you'll want to probe for ideas. Like you (and many others here), I like to get outside the Gulch and SJ. However, this being your first trip you don't really have to worry about any shortage of non-mongering things to do as day trips using SJ as your base (leaving all your nights free for mongering or salsa dancing in the capital). Wow, thinks for the responses guys....Looks like my best bet is to just stay in SJ the whole time and do a couple of day trips out of there. Im not all that excited about the beach anyway, especially alone and if the beach isnt all that great. Someone pm'd me and said Jaco is a cesspool? I like to be able to lay around the pool or beach but its not that important. I wwas just afraid I would run out of things to do during the day in SJ..
