Regarding reciprocity agreements with the U.S. Sorry, C.R. does not have such an agreement. Without a U.S. prescription, you are NOT permitted to bring prescription meds back from C.R. Period.
Will you get busted for 30 pills or fewer? Probably not, but it does depend upon the substance, as well as other factors. Antibiotics would probably not cause much of a stir, nor would non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs...but a psychotropic? I sure wouldn't risk it.
The absolutely best solution is to bring the original scrip, on an old-fashioned Rx paper. To avoid excessive scrutiny, the Rx should show the name, address and DEA license number of the issuing physician. Yes, your family doc will probably question you about your desire for Valium, but most will be open-minded; after all, Valium is prescribed to hundreds of thousands of people in the U.S. every year.
