I have noticed the last few trips more and more girls won't come off cein for an hour or two. That is at least one of the reasons I frequent the local places with the outher being I enjoy experiencing the local culture rather than the Del Rey scene. The main reason I go to the Del Rey is to meet board members and observe the scene and take an occasional girl when I negotiate a good price.I find good talent in the local places and have good to excellent experiences for far less money.Cein is way out of line compared to the prices at local places and if you find a girl you like you can often get contact info to hook up longer term. That is just how I prefer to shop but know it isn't for everyone.rbc100

I wonder what percentage of mongers to the BM and DR visit boards like this?

And what the probability of engaging in some type of price-agreement among mongers (probably not the right term, but you know what I mean) effort might be? If all 1500 members agreed to pay no more than $100 for toda la noche... I'm curious what type of affect this would have on the "marketplace"?

I gotta think that if a lot of the women start scoring only 50% or less success rate on getting guys to pay $100/hour... a 1500 man price-agreement has gotta have some effect?

Wishful thinking?

Sorry, my earlier post was under the topic "Open letter to owners of New Fantasy" from Dec. 13th:

"IMHO I think ALL our board members should focus their price sensitivity to an area that we can possibly help control.......NOT the MP but rather the independent chicas of the Del Rey. I often wanted to start a separate category on the board relating to this topic. If we work together rather than against each other we can bring about an equilibrium in Suppy-Demand at the DR. I'm sure some of you guys think i'm crazy but it can happen. Think of how many CRT members or readers of the board frequent the DR. If only we could have a day where we agree not to give in to the inflated prices! "

We should have a CRT oath to take like a Shriners club. Something like

I solemnly swear
Never to pay a tica cien for an hour,
Never to send money to a tica from the US.
To always backup a CRT member by being an on-call wingman
To freely help other mongers in need of advice
To always act like a gentleman and not ruin the CRT name
Never to share the CRT secrets to ticas
Never let a GFE threaten you or take over your life

I have been reluctant to post concerning this topic because I did not want to be accused of finding fault with the posts of another member.I was hoping another old timer would reply but since they did not I will plunge in, when statements are made that from my experience are simply not true I think they need to be addressed.
Quote:
several years back CIEN was unheard of

I do not know exactly what several years back means, what I do know is that in 1992 the asking price at the Key Largo was $100.00.
Now to put that in perspective, there was no Del Ray or Blue Marlin. The happening was the Key Largo. There was a cover charge and all the chicas dressed, no jeans, no belly shirts, they wore dresses, nylons and heels or skirt, blouse, nylons and heels. They were 95% Tica, no Columbian or Dominicans and they almost all spoke some English. They had natural tetas and were not aggressive like the girls at the DR.
They less pricey alternative were Happy Days, Nashville South, the old NY bar and the occasional pick up at Lucky's Piano Blanco Bar, the price about $25.00
The KL girls are like the DR girls today most would come off the CEIN but not all. There were less chicas in those days but also less mongers so guess it equaled out.

Basically guys, the guy who started Baskin Robbins said it rather well, and normally has a sign in his ice cream parlors to the effect that:

Quality is like buyin oats: If you want top quality oats, fresh, crispy, and full of nutrients, you should be willing to pay a fair and reasonable price. If your willing to settle for oats that have been through the horse once, well, they do come a little bit cheaper.....

Good posts all.

Hey 3P,

Maybe...but the best wine I've had was in a little bar in Tuscany at 30 cents a glass. And I've also spent stupid money for "high quality" wine that I didn't enjoy as much.

My personal experience has shown very little relationship between the amount of money spent and the quality of the experience...wine, women or...well, can't say that I've had any experience with oats.

Your experience may be different from mine.

Ding Dong,

I see once again you attack me. I started my trips to CR in 1993 and as I stated earlier CIEN was unheard of. Maybe an occasional beauty would throw that # out there but it was laughable unless you were a real no nothing gringo that fell of the turnip truck. It's unfortunate for YOU that the chicas stood on CIEN for YOU all the way back in '93. I always talk with the so called old timers who used to frequent the Green Door in the old days and we never heard of Cien back then unless it was for 24 hrs.
Perhaps they just saw you coming.

Has any board members who visited CR 8-10 yrs. ago recall the chicas actually getting CIEN for an hr.?

C.R. Marcos,

If you feel I have attacked you, I apologize that was never my intention. The purpose of a discussion forum is to discuss issues. Your recollection and mine differ end of story.

Your reaction was expected and that is why I posted this disclaimer:
