Does anyone know anything about this place?

I was thinking about taking a scuba trip on my next trip, and aside from Isla del Coco (which is too phucking far), this seems like the next best thing...

I'll scuba in a mud puddle, so I don't really care where I go, but every once in a while I like to do some good seeing while there...

If anyone's been, or knows anything about this place, I'd appreciate it.

Also, if someone knows of a better place, I'll take that as well...

Thanks...

No personal knowledge but try www.drakebayhotel.com/scuba_diving.php
That hotel is the HQ for Costa Rica Adventure Divers www.costaricadiving.com
For a vid and some pix, here's what somebody posted about their honeymoon trip in '07 www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylK3rP4jK18

Natch, TripAdvisor shows other venues in the Drake Bay area.

That video shows me why I leave my scuba gear at home when I visit CR.
CR is a muff divers paradise-not a scuba divers paradise!

Isla cano is considered the best spot for diving on the pacific side. It is located far enough offshore to not be affected by river runoff. I went on a snorkeling trip there once and the visibility was excellent. Lots of fish also.

Go before the rainy season starts. My trip as based out of dominical.

The island is fairly small and is a national park. You cannot stay there overnight.

Isla del Caño is nice, the hardest part is getting there. Short flight, followed by a long ride in a car, followed by a 45 minute boat ride and that just gets you to the Drake Bay area where lodging is. The boat ride to the island seems like it's about 45 minutes to an hour from your lodge/hotel. Last time I was there the accommodations were sort of primitive. PM me if you want some more info.
