“Tómese el tiempo de vivir la lujuria en compañía de una joven vibrante que disfruta al proyectar un aura de sexualidad y belleza. Paquetes de acompañantes eróticas por solo $1.695 (¢771.000)”, anuncia en Internet una empresa que tiene sede en Miami, Estados Unidos.

La competencia entre los oferentes de damas de compañía en Costa Rica no da tregua; otras empresas domiciliadas en el exterior libran un pulso para atraer turismo sexual al país.

En sus páginas –que muestran no pocas fotos de mujeres desnudas o en poses sugestivas– anuncian que la prostitución en Costa Rica es legal.

No obstante, la fiscal adjunta de Delitos Sexuales, Lilliam Gómez, advirtió que las empresas podrían incurrir en proxenetismo (promover la prostitución) porque se trata de una conducta que sí está castigada con penas que oscilan entre dos y cinco años de cárcel.

Como algunas agencias están domiciliadas en Estados Unidos, la fiscalía tica canaliza la información a la Oficina Federal de Investigación (FBI).

De acuerdo con la fiscal Gómez, han seguido la pista a las 130 páginas de Internet que contienen material para adultos y hacen referencia a Costa Rica.

Gama de ofertas

En el mercado de las vacaciones eróticas las ofertas no cesan.

Una empresa ofrece una Guía para unas vacaciones eróticas en Costa Rica –promocionada como “el libro que las autoridades costarricenses no quieren que usted lea”–.

También se pone a disposición un mapa de servicios sexuales en San José, catálogos de damas de compañía (intercambiables, si no son del agrado del cliente), un servicio de contratación de acompañantes “de último minuto” que funciona las 24 horas...

Algunas compañías trabajan como clubes con membresía en Estados Unidos y Canadá.

Aunque ofrecen números telefónicos, nunca contestan. En su lugar piden dejar un mensaje para devolver la llamada.

La Nación llamó a varios de estas empresas y hasta envió correos electrónicos, pero nunca hubo respuesta.

Una de las compañías, con asiento en Miami, ofrece paquetes hasta de $2.799 (¢1,3 millones) por ocho días y siete noches con una acompañante que “hará las de una novia”.

“A su llegada al aeropuerto Juan Santamaría, un conductor bilingüe recoge a los visitantes. Una vez registrado en el hotel, en menos de una hora quedará arreglada la presentación de su primera preselección de acompañantes.

“Estas dulces chicas, que forman parte de sus vacaciones, están orgullosas de sus habilidades para complacer a su hombre.

“Usted estará en camino de disfrutar de este paraíso erótico que tiene muchos placeres por explorar”, explican en una página web.

El servicio incluye 24 horas de compañía, nueve opciones de hoteles –cuatro en San José y cinco en playas–, una hora de barra libre para el visitante y su compañera, impuestos y propinas.

Hoteles de playa

Cinco conocidos hoteles de playa figuran en la publicidad de otra agencia que ofrece acompañantes “con discreción y total anonimato”.

Sus paquetes, de cinco días y cuatro noches, van desde $2.890 (¢1,3 millones) hasta $3.290 (¢1,5 millones). La acompañante “a tiempo completo” se incluye en el precio.

El día adicional tiene un costo entre $550 (¢250.000) hasta $700 (¢318.000).

El ministro de Turismo, Rodrigo Castro, indicó que en varias ocasiones han detectado que los oferentes se aprovechan de los hoteles.

“Hay empresas serias que no necesitan de este mercado. Existen inescrupulosos que se valen de la oferta turística del país para promover esa actividad”, señaló.

Una de las compañías se promociona entre conglomerados de estudiantes afroamericanos en Estados Unidos.

Otra agencia programa tours en hoteles de la provincia de Guanacaste. “Esta es su oportunidad para probar los frutos prohibidos de Centroamérica”.

Tiene dos lemas: “Más deportes y sexo de lo que cualquier hombre merece” o “donde las vacaciones eróticas alcanzan nuevos niveles de hedonismo (placer como doctrina de vida”.

Agencias dicen en sus promociones que prostitución es legal

Cada empresa promotora del servicio de damas de compañía dice tener a la mujer ideal y para eso ofrecen catálogos de jóvenes.

Para obtener acceso a la información, los clientes deben inscribirse en clubes de viajeros –en algunos casos cobran $70 (¢31.850)–.

Las compañías dicen trabajar apegadas a altos estándares de confidencialidad.

“Después de hacer la reservación, le enviaremos fotos e información sobre nuestras acompañantes para que usted pueda escoger una con quien compartir sus fantasías”, anuncia una agencia.

Otra describe a San José como “vibrante de energía erótica”.

“La prostitución es legal en Costa Rica; el proxenetismo no. Sin embargo, las mujeres pueden llegar a un acuerdo con quien quieran.

“Tenemos fotos de desnudos explícitos de mujeres que en la actualidad trabajan en el país (...) Si quiere mujeres desnudas, si quiere sexo, entonces amará nuestra galería de fotos”.

El gancho de otra compañía es: “Descanse en una playa privada leyendo y escuchando música mientras su sensual acompañante le trae bocadillos y bebidas”.

Guanacaste es la provincia que ofrece una agencia para encuentros con sus “modelos”.

“Queremos convencerlo para que alguna de nuestras más confiables y energéticas modelos se unan a usted en esta celebración de vida. En su vocabulario no existe la palabra ‘no’”, asegura.

Ese tour, en una villa privada o en conocidos hoteles, tiene un costo de $3.550 (¢1,6 millones).

Prostitución legal

Algunas páginas de Internet se refieren a Costa Rica como un país dependiente de la prostitución. “En los Estados Unidos, Canadá y en muchas partes del mundo la prostitución es ilegal y en conflicto con la ley.

“En Costa Rica, las cosas son diferentes. La prostitución es legal y a pesar de ser un país católico, se practica abiertamente y la mayoría de las familias sufrirían por la falta de eso”, afirma la denominada Guía para unas vacaciones eróticas en Costa Rica.

Para el ministro de Turismo, Rodrigo Castro, “el que venga a este país con esas intenciones (servicios sexuales) no lo queremos aquí.

“Queremos turismo serio y respetuoso, que vaya enfocado al disfrute. Esto nos causa un grave daño en la imagen del país”, comentó Castro.

Una de las páginas advierte que las autoridades han ejercido presión sobre los servicios de damas de compañía, considerados como proxenetismo.

“Utilizar un servicio de acompañante (en Costa Rica) todavía no es riesgoso o peligroso. El cliente nunca se verá en una situación comprometedora.

“Las autoridades no están en una cacería de brujas y no quieren poner al visitante en alguna situación tonta a sabiendas de que la persecución será próxima a lo imposible”, señala.

Una de las agencias incluyó en su página web un video grabado en Costa Rica por una cadena de televisión estadounidense.

El país es llamado “la capital de la diversión en Centroamérica”. Los periodistas entrevistaron a un extranjero radicado en Costa Rica.

“Tengo 25 acompañantes de primera categoría. Si usted tiene acceso a Internet, escoja la que quiera.

“Si no está contento con la chica que aparece en la página electrónica, le puedo conseguir otras. Aunque hay muchas chicas que trabajan por su cuenta, el servicio de damas de compañía tiene una ventaja: la seguridad”, expresó el entrevistado.

Compañías extranjeras a salvo de la justicia tica

Las empresas que, desde el exterior, ofrecen el servicio de damas de compañía con presuntos fines sexuales se encuentran a salvo de la justicia tica.

Ello porque la supuesta intermediación (proxenetismo) tiene lugar fuera de las fronteras nacionales, aunque la actividad se concrete aquí.

De ahí que el abogado penalista Gustavo Moncada considera que para castigar a los responsables sería necesaria su presencia en el país.

“Pareciera que han disfrazado bien la actividad. Podrían alegar que la empresa no responde por las costumbres sexuales de la dama de compañía”, explicó.

La fiscal adjunta de Delitos Sexuales, Lilliam Gómez, confirmó la inexistencia de herramientas legales para hacer frente a los oferentes en el exterior.

Sin embargo, cada vez que una de estas páginas aparece en Internet la información es entregada a la Oficina Federal de Investigación (FBI) de los Estados Unidos.

“En Costa Rica la prostitución no se penaliza, siempre y cuando sea la voluntad de una persona adulta. Cuando un tercero se beneficia eso es proxenetismo”, explicó.

Con Estados Unidos existe un convenio, tanto así que el FBI comisionó a uno de sus agentes –destacado en Panamá– para que canalice la información que suministran las autoridades nacionales.

“Detrás de este negocio hay delincuencia organizada que tiene redes en diferentes países.

“Cuando estas páginas aparecen, delatan la actividad. Todo eso llega a conocimiento del FBI”, puntualizó la fiscal.

El Ministerio Público cuenta con seis ingenieros en Informática que recibieron capacitación por parte del FBI para seguir huellas cibernéticas.

Tras los contactos

Las baterías de las autoridades se enfilan a desenmascarar los contactos de esas agencias en Costa Rica, según dijo la viceministra de Seguridad Pública, Ana Helena Chacón.

“Se aprovechan de la debilidad de nuestro marco legal. Creemos que aquí hay redes organizadas.

“La explotación sexual es controlada por mafias”, indicó.

Hace dos semanas, la funcionaria recibió un estudio que revela el contenido de 40 páginas de Internet que promueven servicios sexuales en Costa Rica.

La Viceministra ordenó ahondar en las pesquisas. Nuestra legislación castiga con penas de dos a cinco años de cárcel “a quien promueva la prostitución de personas de cualquier sexo, o la induzca a ejercerla”.

La pena sube a 10 años cuando la víctima es menor de edad.

El ministro de Turismo, Rodrigo Castro, advirtió que si detectan la colaboración de alguna empresa nacional para esa actividad, procederán a la cancelación de la declaratoria turística.

FBI cierra filas con fiscalía tica

Las autoridades de Estados Unidos han cerrado filas con las nacionales para castigar los delitos sexuales.

Prueba de ello es que pesquisas emprendidas aquí han tenido repercusiones en ese país.

Así ocurrió con el estadounidense Marcus Fox, quien habría recibido de su coterráneo Thomas Scott Cochran pornografía infantil producida en el país.

Fox ya fue presentado ante el Gran Jurado de California.

Scott, por su parte, fue condenado aquí a 154 años de cárcel por suministro de drogas a menores de edad, corrupción y relaciones sexuales remuneradas con menores.

“El imputado produce pornografía utilizando a personas menores de edad que reclutaba. Esa pornografía la envía a los Estados Unidos, donde un encargado suyo, Marcus Fox, se encarga de procesarla y distribuirla”, detalla la sentencia.

Delatado en EE. UU.

También fue procesado en Estados Unidos (por presuntos abusos contra un menor) un exmiembro del Cuerpo de Paz, de apellido Obert.

A él lo investiga la Corte del Distrito Norte de California por abusar de un joven puntarenense, de 14 años.

El estadounidense trabajó en un proyecto del Patronato Nacional de la Infancia (PANI) entre el 2001 y el 2003.

Junto con un grupo de norteamericanos participó en obras de bien social en barrios urbano-marginales.

A su regreso a Estados Unidos, un compañero contó detalles de un incidente que ocurrió el 5 de julio del 2003.

Con base en su testimonio, las autoridades judiciales le abrieron una causa. Ellas se ampararon en la legislación que castiga al ciudadano estadounidense que cometa actos sexuales contra la niñez en el exterior.

La fiscal Gómez confirmó que al país no solo vinieron autoridades a investigar el caso, sino que llevaron a la víctima a Estados Unidos a declarar.

I cut and pasted the entire thing and translated it. It is dealing with specifically agencies such as these companion resorts and introductory service companies that arrange ladies for thier members.

I can't tell you how strongly we feel against this and why we have avoided any affiliations etc, with escort companies etc. The entire persona changes when you are introducing women and quote In their opinions "promoting prostitution".

We have at least 2-3 emails a week asking how we may contact women in our free gallery and pricing etc. I tell them the absolute truth as who knows how many of these are bogus. That We do not in anyway provide introductions to ladies or violate any of the Costa Rican laws as they are described in the articles above.
