Garfield tried to sell me a Leoperd skin rug one afternoon in the BM. claimed to drive a pink Caddie just like Elvis.

He was (is) a fairly large individual. Must of been the platform boots. All the chicas were friendly with him but, wouldn't go out the door with him.

I met "Garfield" as well. Back in 1999 he was hanging out in the old "Beatle Bar" which is now the NY Bar. Big guy, braggart and annoying as hell. I had a short conversation with him and all I could glean from him was that his family was wealthy and he never had to work in his life. He also apparently spent alot of time playing golf at Carriari with other ex-pats. The Tica I was with wouldn't even speak to him. I remember her saying, "malo Gringo." I never questioned why. No idea what ever happened to him. The way he walked around the Beatle Bar you would have thought he owned the place.

Ding Dong, yes sir. It was the Beatle Bar. Beatle Bar was located where the current NY Bar is located. It is possible that this location could have been named Sharkeys at one time but, not that I know of. Anyone else know?

Yes, the location of the NY Bar was the second incarnation of the Beatle Bar, after it was down the street about 40M and before it moved to Avenida 2. It was Sharkey's for a while before the NY moved there. Before that it had a disco upstairs, and I don't remember what was downstairs.

last I saw of Garfield was about 2 years ago, I was on my umteenth cocktail of the evening sitting enjoying the company of a newly made friend watching Garfield on the other side of the bar. A few minutes go by, and I feel a giant presence behind me...and a hand on my neck. I looked back in defense, and there stands 6 foot 6 Garfield he grunted "What did you do with my Drink" my reply to the cretin "Garfield, dude, you are sitting on the other side of the bar" He let out a loud Garfield Laugh with a few grunts, and let me go...and that my friends is the last time I saw him....wait a second...it was the last time I saw lucy? Do ya think?
