Is the action any less during the Christmas/NYE week? Do the girls take off from working? Just looking ahead and wondering if it is worth it to plan a trip for that time period. Thanks.

Tends to be very slow. many of the foreign chicas go home to visit family and many Ticas take off to spend time with their families here. I personally would choose another time.

ID is right. I decided not to come during the Christmas holidays for those very reasons, even though the stars were perfectly aligned otherwise. Then I made the bright choice to schedule a trip during Semana Santa.  Smart move, that.

Yeah, you generally want to avoid big religious holidays, and Mothers day (August 15th).

I actually had a very good time Mother's Day, but it wasn't because there were many girls out working. I'll post a story in the VIP section. Generally the holidays are always a below average time to visit, and often way below.

I have spent the last 3 Christmas holidays in Rio. It really depends on your situation. True, it's quieter, but that's not always a bad thing. Unless you have K*ds at home, a steady, or some very tight family members who will miss you, why not get out of town? Your friends are certainly tied up. The traffic on and off the roads is horrific and you know you'll spend more money lol.

Perhaps SJ is quieter than Rio, given its size and the number of imports who work there. And I suspect the non-pro scene is smaller as well - and perhaps more difficult. But given the choice of going to CR or staying home during the busy and very commercial holidays, I'd go to CR in a heartbeat and visit family other times.

People who are slaves to holiday expectations are either trained well, or not wrapped to tight, IMHO.

I'm with you Jazz, I dislike the holidays and am prone to the winter blues so a trip to the sunny south is a blessing even if things are slow. Sure beats the snow, crowded malls and airports or being home alone bored. Just takes some planning ahead to avoid being caught solo in the big city, I've spent 2 in SJO and although the place is a ghost town on the actual holidays I had fun and will likely do it again. The first year a Tica offered a free weekend if I took her to the beach, the 2nd year a Colombiana that wasn't going home invited me to stay at her apartment- there are chicas that don't care to be alone on the holidays either, if you can find them.

BUT if you're looking for party time with great selection- Forget it especially if you have no numbers, talent will be sparse and many MPs close.
