As foolish as the cleanup has been around the MP scene the past two weeks possibly some good will come from it

and on the another hand...possibly the muni will take a look at some of the restaurants around and do the same with them

I like Costa De Sol and eat there often.
Ronaldo is a great guy and host but the place is a shit hole and could benefit from a good safety inspection and shut down; from the bare wires connecting the pizza oven, to the mice in the flour, to the cockroaches on the walls .......Damn, clean the place up

I've been warned the kitchen is even worse

WTF the food is great and I have no noticeable ailments yet

I took some gringo friends to a Chinese restaurant on avenida 2. They were sicken when they saw a cat walking around the place.

I told them they were fools because the cat was a good sign and meant there were no rats!

Instead of smoking or non-smoking you can eat downstairs with the mice or upstairs with the roaches what more do you want? :)

My fortune cookie say "Cat in restaurant lucky sign- mean no cat on menu and no rat in kitchen" :P

If you are going to eat at a Chinese restaurant, in CR or the USA, forget about insects and mice. They usually go with the territory. I spent 30 years with the US Food Safety Inspection Service inspecting food plants and can honestly say that I had about a 70% rate of finding roaches and rodents. The problem is that most Chinese restaurants purchase their raw ingredients like rice, almonds etc. from fellow Chinese businessmen. These ingredients are normally stored in warehouses that are not designed to prevent vermin entry. I have seen many Chinese food plants move to a completely new building, only to be infested with roaches several weeks later. The pallets of ingredients contain roach eggs and rodent nests and are thus transferred to the food plant. As most restaurants buy in bulk, the same is true for them. Bon Appetite!
