I do not know if this has been proposed before or not but how about having a topic just for our internal flames, wars, petty differences and disputes? I know this is supposed to be a “Gentleman Forum†but even the Knights had their tournaments and the British aristocrats had their duels.
Something like the “Octagon†pre-Dana White, let your feelings be heard, spit-on-the-floor, call-everyone-a-pu*sy, your mama, his mama, you get my meaning.
Obviously within reason we are still gentleman and duels do have some rules to follow. No outing anybody, personal or financial information about members is off-limits, etc. I would leave those details for the more anal-retentive types in the bunch.

Another mongering site: news.insearchofchicas.org (aka ISOC) has such a forum. The ISOC "La Gallera" forum is listed under the "General Chat" section of the board. The first sentence in the announcement is: "This forum is for drama only." with a following cautionary note stating there will be no drama allowed in other forums. From what I observed, members do use "La Gallera" to settle issues when they have a bone to pick. Of course, some of the drama may spill out into the open, but the nonsense is quickly contained by a team of Administrators and moderators who usually take decisive action ranging from an admonishing PM, benching a member for a couple of days or permanently banning the offender.
"La Gallera" has a few ground rules: No derogatory remarks against another member, the thread is not searchable and after 30 days the thread is removed, and the grievance must appear in the title of the thread. The grieving member may designate the thread as "private" (just among the participants) or "public". Admins and mods retain all permissions and rights to manage the thread.
JimmyDR, who is also a member of the CRT Board, is the Admin of ISOC. Jimmy, with the advise of other high potentates of ISOC, designate and authorize moderators to help keep things under control. The moderators are armed with site tools to effectively do their jobs (eg move or delete posts/pictures, etc.) These guys are very active members who post trip reports, comments and pictures. BTW, they are unpaid for this thankless assignment. ISOC presently has almost 10,000 members and IMHO, things run pretty smoothly (with the exception of a recent server crash
) I truly enjoy posting and reading threads on ISOC.
Getting back to the question...Would something like "La Gallera" work on CRT? I'm not so sure. True, the relatively new "Novia Forum" seems to have absorbed most of the "soap" from the other forums, but I think that is a horse of a different color. There seems to be a great deal of drama and contention on this board lately. I'm not sure if many members, with a bone to pick, would even pay attention to a forum designated just for them. Without a grandstand and a tomato-wielding audience, what fun is a fight?
