I be down in a few weeks and the weather services ( MSN ) shows rain most every day and I was wondering 1) how heavy/type of rain is it 2) is there any regular time of the day it comes 3) being higher up then the coast is this a cold or warm rain? 4)How's the humidity? I live where most of our rain comes in the very cold type and very heavy except when it very cold and the rain is stackable for 6 months, nothing that you want to be caught outside in. So I wondering if I should pack a umbrella or at least a rain hat

Pack an umbrella. Costa Rica is like any tropical/sub-tropical location. The temperature is almost constant so there are not 4 seasons. There are 2 seasons wet and dry. CR rainy season is May to November and dry December to April. Rain is mostly in the afternoon and at times can be heavy. The usual duration is on and off for 3 hours or so but at times it will rain all afternoon or all day.

I also notice it tends to predictably rain a few hours in the afternoon. I usually take that time for a siesta or an early dayshift snack out of the DR for those few hours.

ok sounds good, I getting the idea, fews hours a day where moving around will not be that easy ( I was there alwasy in March) But I wondering hows the humity? and is this a cold or warm rain shower

10 deg North of the equator. Think tropical. When it rains the humidity goes WAY up. 100%.

Serious - unless you are thinking about walking around in a monsoon, just hit the DR or your favorite place early and hole up with a chica for the afternoon until it stops, then go to your next favorite spot and do it again. There is nothing like phucking a nice chica while listening to the rain fall outside.

Rains daily around 2:00 PM in SJO. Disposable umbrellas appear magically for sale on every corner at 1000 Colones ($2) around this time.

Greengo, at 7'4" I bet you blend in damn good amongst the ticos.

August and September's 55 to 78 temp range is the bomb in SJO coming from South Florida's hot & humid.
