Last trip I was in the HDR and in creeps this 70 something old gringa lady with a WALKER. Her husband is walking about 20 feet in front of her and they decide to play the slots a little.

I am thinking to myself, there are 4 other casinos within hobbling distance. Why the phuck do you have to bring her to this one?
They hung around maybe 15 minutes and she slowly made her way out of there. The husband pretended not to notice anything and quickly walked out.

Hell, what will be next? A bus of geriatric gringas looking for a bingo game? There IS NO GETTING AWAY FROM THEM.

What do you guys think about it?

About 6 months ago in the HDR during the daytime I saw a gringo father and his two Ch*ldren standing around the travel desk. One boy and one girl, about 10 and 8. The guy was absolutely crazy bringing those K*ds in there. The K*ds' eyeballs were popping out of their heads - I think they thought they were zapped onto Mars.

It would not bother me to have old people hanging around....that is a slippery slope. I hope when I'm 95 and on oxygen I can still hobble up to the BM at least for the eye candy. It would be sad to see a sign go up that says "No entry if you are older than 35 years." :?

They would make more money if the sign read:

"No entry unless you are older than 35 years"

I don't see a problem with it as long as they understand what the game is and they're not bothering anyone with negative remarks or looks. I'd much rather see some older people playing the slot machines, than a bunch of fat-ass gringa eco-tourists standing around in the lobby giving their evil looks to us and the chicas.

As far as bringing K*ds in there...that was prabably just a mistake. The parents just didn't know any better.

Occasionally, when I stay at the Castillo, there is a 70 something, wealthy gringa staying there while she takes Spanish lessons downtown. She actually is OK to be around and is not judgemental. She says she is a "realist" and understands the situation and has no problem with it. 8)

I find it amusing when an unwary traveler wanders into the Del Rey. I just sit back and watch, like watching an episode of 'Candid Camera.'

Once as I was finishing up a military tour in El Sal where I had was a lead for an MTT of SF, MPs and CA guys in training the Salvadorans due to the terms of a 91 Peace Treaty.

I was sitting in my favorite steak house right outside the Zona Rosa drinking Tequila and in walks, not one, not 2, but a bus load of geriatic gringos as a tour group. My only thoughts was H-F-S, there goes the neighborhood, I better find a new country to hole up in.

But, to this day, I think it was a fluke, so ill adviced tour of what was and still is a pretty dangerous place. I think the same thing about your geriatic gringos; it was just a fluke.

My Mom is in her 80's and she would be facinated to sit in HDR with a drink to watch the action and play a little blackjack. Of course, I would not tell her of the existence of the place.

To paraprase a quote form "Gone With The Wind", nice girls have always been facinated with the behavior of no so nice girls.

A buddy and I joined a snorkeling tour, accompanied by chicas who were about 30 years younger, wearing very brief bikinis. The other women, especially a couple of young Swedes, gave us really dirty looks, while the guys looked envious as hell. Our chicas seemed totally unaffected. Interesting!

The men thought you were either very rich, were rock stars, had huge dicks, were famous, major players, your office assistant was off on a weekend with the boss hoping to making a nice raise, or es possible they were P4P chicas.....

The girls thought they were hookers...

They probaby feel sexier, prettier, and more feminine that the femanazis who give them the baleful glare. I doubt that they intellectualize the matter too much either.

King Costa,
I think I may have seen the same couple. They were actually there 2-3 times playing the slots (she-playing; he- looking, and I think dreaming of "playing"). Once, I saw her talking to one of the chicas :?:  :?

The over 70 crowd?? Just remember, there are more than just a few geriatric types in CRT; and everyday more and more of us are getting there. Crookedcr, Not only do I hope, but I plan on hobbling into the REY, or better, a LOW RENT MP, and thanks to V & C, I plan on at least letting some sweet 20 yo suck on the old lolly pop and play cowgirl.

Sign "Banning over 35": That would also ban almost 1/2 the working chicas in the REY. Actually there was a time when you almost never saw a chica over 30. Come to think about it, those over 35 chicas today may just be the same chicas that were the 20-25 crowd back
then

What bothers me more is that on 2 occasions lately I have seen a group of 2-3 YOUNG gringas running around the REY and not with husbands or boyfriends. NOW THAT IS SCARY   :?
