Correct. My experience is that texting will not work to or from CR. I know texting works both ways in Guatamala and the Dominican Republic, FWIW. BTW, that charge of $2.29 is for incoming or outgoing calls. If you leave your phone ON and someone calls you and hits your voicemail, you are charged the $2.29 for each minute the person talks in your VM. So, I suggest you leave your phone OFF unless you need it. If your phone is off the caller goes direct to VM and the charge will not apply...until of course you check your VM, then you are charged for the time you use checking the messages. If messages can wait then check them when back in the states.
