I feel obligated to reply to this post as I deal with these sorts of things on a daily basis.
Currently, there is a chain email circulating through email systems warning of this virus. However, the virus described in the email is not even the same virus highlighted in the snopes.com posting referenced within the email.
Here's some points of interest when you receive these sorts of chain emails warning of virus outbreaks:
1. If the virus mentioned in the email is, in fact, the most destructive virus in all of man, don't you think that the notification method used to alert the public would be pretty much any media outlet besides a chain email?
2. If there is a question as to the email's validity, which there should be always, do a Google search for the email's subject plus the words 'hoax' and 'email'. See what you get.
Basically, these chain emails that warn of virus outbreaks are created solely for the purpose of scaring people and clogging up email systems with an exponentially increasing amount of traffic. Any time you receive any sort of email that asks you to forward to everybody in your contacts, you shoud definitely think twice and in most instances, don't do it.
