Again my friend who just came back from living there for 6 months, says the welcoming attitude of the Ticos in general is definitely waning. Its now F**K U let me see how much I can rip you for and why are you living in my country.

I've been to a lot of boards lately, some expat non-whore monger type and some related to whore mongering and I can tell you that most, for whatever reason, are filled with negative comments about the natives. It seems a lot of expats relocate to these third world countries and then do nothing but bitch about the native's attitude. Well, that attitude is deeply ingrained because a lot of it comes from culture so may as well either leave or stop bitching. It is like when someone foreign bitches to us about America, we are usually quick to say, if you don't like it, get the Phuck out.

Why go to C.R. and pay more than $80 esp. factoring in all the extra expenses?

Most will defend the extra expense as the cost associated with vacationing and partying with those who they connect with on this website.

I think the going rate around here at an Asian Massage Parlor is around 160 so I could go on a binge for 10 days and still only spend 1600 dollars by doing 1 a day. Something to think about. It isn't exactly the same, no where near it, since it is minus the beers and the bars, but still getting laid everyday.

When I was down in April I also noted the decline in the Breakfast at the Pres.. rising over all cost. I was there helping a friend move in to his town house he bought 3 years ago at 72,000$. He 's now back here in the US and his house is on the market for 145K. He was telling our group the cost of living is rising at about 10% a year, he can longer afford to live there, what after 6 months?? He says there's a definite attitude change in the Ticos and Ticas toward Americans.
I don't know, I always though if I hit the Lottery I'd buy a place down there, but the cost of realestate has sky rocketed in the last three yrs. My friend, like me, lives on a retirement plus a little investment.
Others tell me Nicargua is place to move to and great place to monger in is, Columbia (Medellin)
Any thoughts???? or observations??

No no....costa rica is the best ! Don't go to Medellin - a lot of crime very unsafe.. Naa just playing but I hope people don't turn Medellin into another tourist trap. Currently, if you know the right people Medellin is in a class by itself. I went there a couple months back and I still dream about it. Girls are gorgeous, prices are great and if you have any common sense you won't be a victim. I went with 2 other guys though and we are all 25 and pretty fit...plus they are both in the army so that might of also been the reason I never thought twice about my safety.

Anyways, I definitely recommend it and if you go stay at the Mansion...There is plenty of action there but if you get friendly with a couple drivers you can find some gorgeous semi-pros ....There is also Club VIP, I did not stay there nor got a chance to try it but I have heard good things.

If you need a good driver who knows the ropes and can hook you up with semi-working girls call Harrison at 315 538 5742.

It's not the Mojo that has lost it luster... But the Moola.....

The declining dollar as a lot to do with the TICA ATTIDUDE...

But this quote is nothing new` about Roberto....
Quote:
42,000 or $82 a pop at Idem is insane. I used to really like this place, but if that is true it`s off the list..

Hmmmmmmm..Roberto charged me $70.00 for an hour session.... :?

THAT WAS OVER THREE YEARS AGO, WAY BACK IN 2004.....:shock::shock:

Like CR ..The Idem is not for everyone.....

I feel that Roberto ripped me off and I have never set foot back in the joint...

That sorta sums up my feelings ...

Rip me off and I'm out of there.... 8)

It's a big World and CR is not the only spot in the SUN....

I always had a good time in CR. It's a scene, small, mostly friendly, and from time to time some really nice girls. The DR is like no other bar I've been to, and trading war stories there was always fun. Step across to the Key and you can change the mood. I also had some nice sessions at the various MP's, and a few I'll always remember.

I find the girls in Colombia to be special. It's the destination I've adopted in lieu of CR the last dozen trips. Yes, you can have great sessions at one-third the cost of CR, but that's not the whole story for me. I find the relative lack of tourists helps, but it's really about the girls. They're very pretty to me and very passionate. They're mostly free of attitude, very accessible, and appreciative.

When I have more time I go to Rio. Now that I've been meeting normal girls on BrazilCupid, I'll likely be taking 2 or 3-day flights from Rio to some quieter cities like Cuiaba, Aracaju, Natal, Recife, and other locales where girls are dying on the vine. Their beauty combined with their hunger for affection make these girls irresistable to me. And I'm certain the working girls aren't much different, given the experiences I've had with some who live 2 hours out of Rio.

Some speak of the "hunt" in SJ. But "hunting" the Brasil countryside seems to be the logical progression for me. The girls that dreams are made of are out there. All it takes is time, money and dedication to real adventure.

I'll make it back to CR, I'm pretty sure. But I haven't checked out Argentina, Peru, Asia, Germany, and so many other places talked about here. It's easy to get in a rut if you're not careful.

So many girls, so little time.

Jazz, It is good to see you alive and well.

All you need is time and money. That pretty well sums it up. If I remeber you talked about some girls living in your building in Miami who were making 1 to 3k for the night at football players party's and stuff. Time and money. If I was in Montreal and the only french I knew was WE. Driving a British Bentley and staying at the Ritz Carlton I think I could get me one with lots of bush everywhere.

Time and Money. I could even afford to send the K*ds to Fancy boarding schools in Swizterlend. And when I visited them I could learn more french.

I miss you Jazz. And I still look at that 18 year old on the couch you found in Brazil. I sure wish I had the time and money. That is why I go to CR. It takes 7 hrs down and 6 back. I can stay at the Castillo for 38.00 with CRT discount. I know the city. Where to go. And just have to watch the transportation section to keep up on the cheap tickets. Leave on a friday morning. Come back Monday night. Holiday weekend only miss 1 day of work. Sleep on the flight back. I am normally exhausted.

I do play the lotto. And if God wants to give me the time and money. I would be doing eveything you said. Till then it is Taxes and Viva Viagra!

Which 18 year old on the couch?  Jazz, I was just thinking about Vania the other day. I sure hope I cross paths with her again. I would drop what I'm doing, most definitely.

I can't wait to try Colombia. CR will always be an option to me for a short trip if flights are below $400. With hotel I can spend a four days for around $1000. Unfortunately I have to spend $1100 just to get to Brazil right now. Colombia is only $650 and after my next trip to Brazil is probably where I'm going because it's just as inexpensive as CR once you land and only an extra $300 to get there.

Red - I hear every word you're saying. What can I say? Sacrifice somewhere and do brazil. You know you won't be sorry. I never met one person who was sorry. Not one.

Tica - Red was talking about Vania. I really should tell the whole world here the depths of your blunder and ruin to pass on her when she was naked in my apartment and you were sitting between her and her naked friend. It just goes to show how jaded we can all get (myself included) when there's so much young, hot opportunity. It's kind of the way gringas are with us. She was barely legal, barely a working girl (I stupidly showed her Hooker Beach) and you passed... Just busting your balls. I'm sure you had a good reason. Didn't you?

I've got to say this girl was as sweet and fresh and sexy and hot as they come. My last two trips I left messages on her friend's fone (Grazi, remember from Claudia's?) but the bitch (Grazi) probably never forwarded my messages. Either that or some rich dude picked Vania up and ain't about to let her go. So I haven't seen her since.

Hopefully next time.

But I recall a conversation I had in the NewYork bar last year with an American living there. He was going back to the U.S, he said he needs a break from the Ticos about every 6 months because of the BS games they like to play. I thought he was living in paradise.

Couldn't have said it better myself... The break is nice to show you that there are parts of the world that still work smoothely.

This thread has me thinking about my decision to make a 7th trip to San Jose. In the past few years, I have been to Argentina, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Prague, and several cities in Canada. I'd have to say my favorite is Buenos Aires, but it takes some suffering on those long flights to get there. So why have I visited Costa Rica so often?

Many of you guys cite friendship and boozing as reasons for choosing C. R. To each his own. The fact is, though, I can't drink any more, and I always monger alone. I don't gamble except for selling stock options and gold. Oh, I might have a conversation with a fellow mongerer (and if you're reading, I enjoyed the conversation), but the nicest thing about Costa Rica for me is that I can be utterly alone, alone with my thoughts and the natural lust I feel when I am away from all the pressures and demands of my work.

Just thinking about being on the streets of San Jose makes me relax, right now as I think about it. I'm thinking about the walk on Avenida Colon on the way back from Oasis or one of the other cheap places west of the gulch. My belly is full of Machu Pichu food, and my thoughts are full of the 2 or 3 chicas I had the distinct privilege of ravishing all morning on crazy massage tables or creaky beds. A personality fault of mine is that I like a little squalor as long as no one is starving. I like the bustle on the streets and the post-colonial, provincial decay of San Jose and environs.

I have my little round of favorite restaurants (El Balcon de , La Esquina de, and what's wrong with the SL for breakfast, whether you are staying there or not?). I know where to get carrot juice, a daily requirement. I usually lose a pound or two from all the walking and phucking even though I eat better than at any other time of year. At the HDR I drink a lot of capuccino and look at all the cute whores selling their wares (I have never paid cien and won't, but I love to watch their sequined-bluejeans-clad butts waggle their advertisements). I read the 80% of La Nacion
that I understand and practice Spanish with the chicas who sit down. The next morning when I am screwing a cutie for $22, I often think back about the HDR girl I chatted up the day before.

At night I love the band and dancing at the KL. The chicas transcend their professions and do the Latin dances that are in their blood. I adore their powerful asses keeping perfect time to the music. Their tits are usually trying to catch up with the rest of their bodies. Throw in the occasional gringa for balance and interest on the dance floor.

I feel alive in San Jose, alive and at rest. I treasure the little tan honeys who suck me with such devotion to their work. Most of them are more than willing to have a good time too.

The last thing to say is that I deeply appreciate this site and its updates. The information here is so much better than what is available for any other place I have been (except maybe Argentina). It is with sadness that I say good-bye to Bar Idem after your reports of price increases (such pleasures there with new girls!), but you guys keep us up to date on new bargains and opportunities. So let me end this too-long post simply with gratitude. You are probably extending my life and you are definitely making happiness possible.
