Just got home from my 1st trip and have already booked my next for December 26th and my wingman said he heard the SL was dead then, is it?

Also thinking of fitting in a shorter trip in between even with the long flight time a four day trip may be in order.

Will do a trip report soon but do want to thank everyone I met and read here for all the advice and wisdom. It helped to insure a mighty fine trip with very little mishaps.

Alot of guys don't like that time. DR thins out sort of, many chicas go back to home, but some locals come out to get $$ for presents. I always had fun then though, depends what you're into. It's kind of an off time. If you want a packed DR w/ columbianas standing room only, don't go then. If you like hitting Idem, Pantera, other night clubs etc and can make your way w/ the espanol it's a cool time. Do a search on the board for trip reports over that period and you'll get a feel.

I like that time of year....not as crowded and busy, more relaxed atmosphere. Little, if any rain. I'll be there in January. :)

Thanks
I believe this trip will be solo my wingmans schedule does not so far click with mine. I don't mind slow I actually prefer it a bit slow as long as there are chicas around. How about SL do they fill the rooms. The HDR gets old for me after a few visits. So for me the center point needs to be the SL I like it there. I also liked the ZB two of the three best sessions I had were there.

Jan and Feb are great because there is little or no rain. It is the peak of the tourist season though so the beach towns are packed and the prices high. In San Jose, I haven't really noticed a difference.

Janaury has really good weather in Costa Rica if you are looking for an escape from the winter blues of the states. It's very dry in most of the country. In San Jose, it will be sunny and about 75 degrees or so.

I have been in the beach town of Tamarindo the past two Januarys. It is crowded due to the tourist high season. But in January, you get weather of 90°F every day and nearly 100% sunshine in Tamarindo. Show me a Caribbean Island or anywhere in Mexico where you are just about "guaranteed" to get dry and hot weather. It's perfect if you are tired of going to a tropical area in January and all you get is slightly warm rainly weather.

The BeattleBar in Jaco is the place to be in Janaury. The girls are all working. Jaco is quite similar weatherwise to Tamarindo in Janaury. However, Jaco gets a little bit of rain making the area slightly green during this dry season.

Every day at Del Rey is a good day.

No two days at Del Rey are the same.

The slower paced, simi-pro action is good. It is a different game, different play.

I travel in January,

Sometimes slower IS better, yes the weather is good.

" THE REY " seems to get active again during the first week of January.

I was told a couple years ago that the SL slows during Christmas , however it is always prudent to book ahead as much as possible,
that is my policy.

I am there starting Jan 2/08
