a question for the Internet informed: not being that knowledgeable about the Internet in general I have a question about what to do with the personal website. The situation is: some years ago I started a site on MSN groups called "a day at the Del Rey". Nothing spectacular just my vacation photographs and comments concerning my trips to San Jose. This was started back in the late 1990s and I was pretty much satisfied with it till about 2005 when MSN groups divested itself of anything of an adult nature. Not that my site contains graphic sex or for that matter nudity. I did create it in the adult section primarily due to the subject matter that was being discussed.

MSN transferred everything to World Group which in my humble way of looking at things is nothing more than a porno site. I lost interest in the site being somewhat embarrassed by the nature of the other sites it was included with.

What I'd like to know is what other places on the Internet would be a good candidate to host a personal website containing primarily vacation pictures from San Jose and a running commentary of 10 years of getting laid at the Del Rey. I would prefer someplace free or at least not too expensive with lots of storage space. Thanks in advance for any one with constructive comments.

Yahoo Groups would work. They even do the age check thing but it's pretty easy to use. You can upload pictures, posts, and can deny or grant access.

That's the easiest solution short of doing your own site which is easily done but you need to be comfy working at a computer for a bit.

I concur about Yahoo groups. Also you can do it on Google groups which is a bit more sex expanded.

That World groups is a joke. Even on cable it takes forever to download and navigate around.

OR ! Just create your own website, relatively cheap.....and have a internet savy friend walk you through it.

I think Dongordo did a good job with his web site.

Any that allow remote linking? Looking for a site that would allow people to access jpgs or mpgs if i posted them elsewhere such as news groups

Linking to a news group is more difficult because it uses a different protocol then a web site. If you have tons of pics, your best bet is to just got some photo gallery software and upload them. Or, get a flickr account and password protect it and give it to your friends. I haven't read Flickr's terms of service so they might get a little excited if you upload tons of naked chicas.

For anyone thinking about starting up a personal site, you can get web hosting for as little as $5.95 a month that will come with pretty much everything you need to share photos, blog your experiences, forums, and anything else you could imagine.
