Here is a link to a very interesting development for gsm cell users (unlocked) and anyone who makes or receives international calls.

I have the T-Mobile@Home service and GSM/WiFi phone here in CR..

works great in Costa Rica... free calls to/from USA when in WiFi mode.
Can connect with any open WiFi or secured WiFi will key in Costa Rica.
Have talked for literally hours and phone bill shows NO minutes used
when in WiFi mode...

three items to watch out for....

1) If WiFi drops out will automatically switch to ICE cell line... If make or answer call while in ICE Cell mode... $1.99 per minute..

2) When in WiFi mode and connection drops DURING call....will not automatically transfer call to ICE cell... total call drops and must reconnect. This happens automatically in US.

3) Will not automatically reconnect to WiFi if loses signal, must manually reconnect... done automatically in US.... plus Calls in US remain free is STARTED in WiFi mode then transfered to cell system... this DOES NOT work in Costa Rica... call dropped, which is good since ICE rate would be $1.99/ min with T-Mobile world rates...

great system... keep my US cell always on in WiFi mode at home and functions same as US landline... callers have no idea where I am plus the Caller ID shows my US cell number.. or so I am told..

Not bad for $10 / month add on...
