One morning a man comes into the church on crutches.
He stops in front of the holy water and splashes some of it on both of his legs, then throws away his crutches.

An altar boy witnessed the scene and runs to the rectory to tell the priest what he'd just seen.

Without hesitating the priest says, "Son, you've just witnessed a miracle! Tell me, where is this man?"

"Flat on his ass Father, over by the holy water."

8) Good Evening,
I would like to know if there are any scheduled or unscheduled holidays/events in SJ or CR for that matter on or during Oct 19 thru Oct 26 2007. All I want to do is get off the plane go into town, do my partying, enjoy the night life get back on the plane to come back. I do not need any parades marches etc... 8)
Thanks
Bobshere

A 20ish man goes to confession and tells the Priest that he stole some money. The Priest tells him to say 25 Hail Mary's and wash his hands in the Holy water.

Then an older man tells the Priest that he kicked a dog while angry. The priest tells him to say 30 Hail Mary's and wash his feet in the Holy Water.

As the two of them are washing in the Holy water,a pretty 18 year old Tica appears and says "Move over I have to GARGLE"

Well, Bobshere,   I like your approach. You sound like one of my old college buddies. His favorite line was, "Just spare me all the f***ing details, and tell me if you got any."

Do not recall any scheduled holidays over that period. If something is unscheduled how can you plan to avoid it? Seems like a contradiction in terms.

Actually there is a fairly good possibility of "unscheduled events" in mid-October. The referendum for the TLC (free trade agreement with the U.S.) is scheduled for October 7th.

IMO, if it passes, there is a fairly good chance that there will be major demonstrations in the weeks to follow. The rhetoric from the opponents to the treaty has been steadily more anti-democratic in the last few weeks, going so far as to question the legitimacy of the presidency, the courts and the electoral commission.

For the sake of Bobshere and anyone else down here at that time, I hope I'm wrong.

The good news is that they have announced that the Ley Seca will not apply on the day of the referendum. Service at the bars will not be interrupted. :) :)

My take is a little different. I believe if it passes or fails on the referendum there will be no demonstrations as the vote is binding and automatically become law if the turnout exceeds 40% of the eligible voters. There is little point in demonstrating under that scenario.

If the turnout is less than 40% then the vote does not count and the yea or nay for passage shifts to the legislators. In this case I believe there will be demonstrations trying to influence that process.

Hopefully any demonstrations should they occur will take place between October 18 and 24 when I will be in Vegas and Laguna Beach

If it passes there is going to be a lot of demonstrations and gringos should be extra careful on the street.

8) Gentlemen,
Thank you both for your insight on this matter. About the only thing I can do now is wait and see how this plays out. I will be looking a little harder now that I have this information. I wonder if travel insurance covers situations like this? Guess I'll read the fine print.
Thanks again.
