Although often overlooked, “word-of-mouth” is a powerful advertising agent. Whether we realize it or not, what we tell others about our vacation experiences, either in person or on the internet, can influence their future vacation plans. I often speak of my Costa Rican experiences in very positive, glowing terms, but never gave much thought to the number of people I directly influenced to make their first trip. Over the past 3 years, I counted up the number of newbies (mongers & non-mongers) that either accompanied me, or made the trip on their own, based upon my recommendations. I came up with a total of 8 new visitors to Costa Rica. So, my question to the board is: How many new visitors made their first trip to CR (with or without you) based upon your personal recommendations?

Just told two, one went and it was like watching a train wreck in slow motion. Take note: not all men are cut out for the gulch and P4P, some just do not have the willpower, common sense or emotional maturity to handle being tossed into the shark tank of the BM. Attention from beautiful chicas may suddenly turn their otherwise functional brains into mush. I wish I'd have kept my mouth shut.
The 2nd guy P4P in the states so I filled him in a bit on CR but kinda doubt he'll ever get a passport and make the trip which is fine with me, not sure he should be around women, booze and gambling 24 hrs./day.
I'm not telling anyone else!

I brought a couple of guys & set them up in HDR. The 2 guys I knew were "cool" but they brought a friend (third wheel) I was worried about. It took them all of 5 minutes when they came down to the bar to meet me for a drink to figure out what I had done to them . Yes those 2 had a good time but had to hide their activities from the third wheel. I have never seen a man like this third wheel. He is a great guy but was way out of place down there I feel. He was married & was a true blue husband. He had one he was burning up inside over you could just see it. She worked on him for 4 days with NO results.

Some guys are damn strong is all I can say or they are missing out IMHO. To each his own but I really don't think it is a good idea to bring anybody. They will inevitable get in your way. Better to meet like minded people in our play pen for me.

Yeah, I can appreciate your perspective. So far, all of the guys who accompanied me to CR have partaken in chicas (some more than others). In September, a small party of first-time visitors (all non-mongers) will be joining me during my first week in CR. Their sole purpose for the trip is to go fishing. I'm just wondering if one or two will experience a lapse of willpower during their nights in SJ. We shall see!

Let's see, I had my wife and brother that I took down. Then, a group of four friends went with me and only three participated in the 7 girls/4 guys orgy at ZB. The fourth was not into the scene and walked into the orgy and quickly, and I mean very quickly, left. It was a little funny but we did not make a big deal about his desire to not participate. He and the others did participate mostly in the non-orgy mongering. The friends all thanked me and considered this a very memorable time. However, all four said that the memory is all that they need and they will not return to CR. They are between 55-59. As mentioned previously, the life is not for everyone.

Solo uno. Got a good buddy of mine down there finally towards the end of last year. He quickly hooked up with a hot semi-pro, and - against my best advice - proceeded to send her money, gifts, etc.. Then she dumped him.

Bet that's never happened before...
