One good thing about the lights going out...when they came back on I was happy to find a beautiful pu**y at the end of my tounge. And no it wasn't feline!!!

God it really sucked too!!!! There were 2 guys for every Punta. They were ALL holding tough on the cien/hour, cien/hour, cien/hour. My worst night at the Rey ever. I don't mind the cien thing so much, but I am just warming up in the first hour. It was justed phuqued!!!

Myself, HolaB, OFT, Big Daddy & Spanky (along with 5 Colombiana's) were just finishing dinner at JR Ribs on Thursday night when the power went out. It was pitch black in the restaurant, with the exception of the light coming from their cash register computer screens.

The staff quickly grabbed some flashlights, and started lighting candles. Actually, it was kinda cool! Went back to the SL around 9 p.m., where the staff had lit a bunch of candles, and handed out more candles for the guests to put in their rooms.

I was told that the black-out was Country-wide, so my chica and I immediately went to my room and took a shower. I figured it would be a long time before the power was restored, and I wanted to make sure to get a hot shower before there was no more hot water left in the tank!

Naturally, one thing lead to another, and I never made it back to the bar! After another no-holds-barrred session with this Colombiana, we showered again (my apologies to other guests at SL who didn't have any hot water for their showers!) and called it an early night.

A little after 1 a.m., I awoke feeling frisky again (vitamin "C" is the best!), and my chica was more than happy to oblige. A little while later, right in the middle of another outstanding session, the lights came back on, and the television was blaring. Scared the sh*t outa me, and put a little damper on THAT session. But after turning off the lights and TV, went back and finished what we'd started.

Bottom line..... I kinda like it when the entire country loses power!!!

The night of the blackout, I was in a taxi on the way to my girl's house. Now, we've all been in a taxi in SJ with traffic lights (which don't really mean much, but are occasionally obeyed) and street lamps and still have prayed to god not to die in that cab that day.

Imagine the scene with NO traffic lights and no street lamps. It was like bumper cars at the local amusement park. Bump, Crash, Bump, Crash!!! At every intersection, it was a game of who can make it through the intersection first without dying. I think I counted 6 accidents. And not a cop in sight anywhere directing traffic. I think they were afraid to stand in the street, probably afraid to get run over by one of those maniacs.

On a side note, the Del Mar (across the street from HDR and next door to KL) was about the only restaurant in town that was open at 8-9pm that night. So we had no choice. We walk in and not a free table in sight, it was packed. I was shocked. I had never been in there with more than 10 people dining. Their ceviche is pretty damn good, so I knew what I would have. The ceviche at Princesa Marina blows it away though and at almost half the price.

Yeap, I live in Medellin ( last 2 years ).. power is usually very reliable here in Colombia .. I slept through this outage anyway. Cheers.

ICE reinstituted its rolling blackouts today. Just got power back after 4 hours off.

Are these blackouts due to the rainy season approaching? I am heading down there in May I hope there are no issues. Tux

My power was of from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM today. ICE says that the hydro plants are suffering from low water problems and the blackouts will continue until the rainy season dumps sufficient rain to allow the plants to generate normal levels of power.

When in May that will be is just a guess as the rainy season has no clear start/stop dates that vary year to year.

I just got my power back on in Escazu after a four hour hiatus which started at 7am. Thank God I still have time to warm up my jaccuzzi before my Novia of the day arrives. Some things in this life,I'm just not willing to forego.

Those blackouts do not sit well with me.
Especially if in traffic.

I hope they cease before the Memorial Day weekend and the BBQ.

yes, three hours each day in escazu. It sucks

I am never going home

Power outages are taking place for 3 hour periods everyday except Sundays.
They are now publishing schedules so you can prepare for the time you will without power.

ICE says this will continue until there is sufficient rainfall to increase the water level at the reservoir that supplies the power plant that generates a major amount of the countries electricity.

They expect that if the rainy season starts as normal this will be somewhere around the 15th of this month.
