Totally unrelated to the subject matter of this thread but interesting nonetheless. I work with approximately 200 plus people. This is a very diverse group everything from those who did not complete high school, immigrants and college graduates some with advanced degrees. Being the curious individual that I am when this incident with Imus came out in such a big way in the media I did one of my very unscientific surveys. I could only find 10 people who even knew who he was and only one of those confessed to ever hearing his radio show. The point this makes is that the whole thing was a media opportunity for a group that did not include Imus or his listeners. Reasonably sure everyone jumped in to stay off the target list and and awave from the contrived Outrage. Sorry for being off-topic but sometimes I just cannot resist giving my opinion.

Exactly!!!! The public thinks something dramatic has been done to solve the problem and tonight it is business as usual for all us mongers in the gulch. I'm convinced it was a television ploy also. Spoke to a Tica tonight who was taken in because they said she used her sister's ID. Well, she had credit cards, passport etc. but they still put her on the bus and then released her almost immediatly at the station. She was back in an hour with no fine no nothing but a lame apology. And I know this is first hand info because I saw her loaded up.
It was all about how many girls they could show on the news, not how many were illegal or anything else. DR was rockin tonight with all kinds of girls including a bunch that were led away on Friday.

Hey Gringo Melo. I have been listening to Imus for over 20 years and I know he is no racist, but what he said was racist and not funny I did not think he should be fired and Al and Jesse need to shut up. But if you or anyone use words like that to descibe groups of people what should one think but racism
