There is a laundry place that I have used that is about three blocks away from the Presidente. I recommend using one of those large mesh laundry bags with a shoulder strap if you plan on walking there.
Take a right on Ave Central when leaving the Presidente through the main entrance. Walk one block and take a right on Calle 9. Walk about two blocks downhill and you will find a laundry place on the corner. It is approximately across the street from the Ticabus station on Calle 9 and Avenida 4. Last year, they charged me about $10 for two loads of laundry. They don't speak much english there, so it will help if you speak a few words of spanish.
The Presidente can also do your laundry for you, but it is much more expensive than the laundry place.
For some reason Sixaola has not been open last couple times I've gone there, a chica working next door said she thought they may already be closed for Semana Santa.
Anyway just a note on the other place mentioned above, they have a minimum charge of 3k whether it's just a few items or a whole load (10-12 items he said), so if you just need a pair of jeans and a couple shirts done it's the same price to just let the hotel Pres. do it.
