The Weather Channel seems to predict based on SJ weather (I don't know which neighborhood) but posts readings from Juan Santamaria Aeropuerto, which is in Alejuela, so the temperature posted is often several degrees warmer than the predicted high, since they measure it at a lower altitude. As a 3 year member, I hope you realize that windy and drizzly is common this time of year.

I knew it was the wet season. I just couldn't remember what the temperature was like. for me that is light jacket weather. I've gotten accustomed to this Houston heat and humidity. It feels normal now after 26 years.

Forecast for this week averages about 77 high and 65 low daily.

This article was in AM Costa Rica this morning.

Quote:
Multiple factors cloud
nation's weather forecast

By the A.M. Costa Rica staff

The weather situation is complicated by a cold front coming down from the Gulf of México and Tropical Depression Sergio in the Pacific north and west of the country.

The Instituto Meteorológical Nacional said that the cold front will produce the first north winds that drive away the rainy season. The latest report said that a decrease in temperature is likely today with an increase in rain in the northern zone and in the Caribbean slope. However, the prediction is for dry weather on the pacific coast and in the Central Valley.

The Weather Underground which provides weather reports for A.M. Costa Rica agrees with the institute but says that clearing will not take place until later in the week.

Guillermo Quiros, a professor and director of the Instituto de Costas in Heredia, sent out an e-mail Sunday night saying that the cold front could cause strong winds and high tides on the Pacific as well as the Caribbean.

The e-mail cites predictions by the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, which are considered conservative.

The Tropical Depression Sergio appears to be heading west away from the coast some five degrees north of Costa Rica. Although the depression is moving west and slightly south, the low pressure area could affect the weather on both coasts here.

Coming from an hour north of Seattle and going through Houston every time I come here IMHO you will find it more than pleasant. I don’t think you can get a good idea of the weather from a prediction because it goes through the whole range daily and changes hourly. The highs and lows ya but a 20 minute taxi ride can get you to totally different weather and +/- ten degrees F.

Houston is humid to me and at least in the central valley I’ve never felt the same degree of humidity here. Yesterday I got good work on my tan a lot of sun, and today cloudy and dry - I walked a few klicks very comfortably. The weather is splendid and getting better - C’on down.

Writing this Monday night and from Barrio Escalante - windy with some sorta tremblers – pleasant and liveable.
