How difficult is it to pick up a regular girl for a date? Not a pro, but maybe a semi pro or even a civilian? If I wanted to show a girl a good time "like a date here in the US", how difficult would that be?

Sorry man, there's no such thing. She's either a hooker or she's not. If she ever directly took money for sex, she's a hooker. It seems very simple to me.

As for your original question, it's possible to meet regular straight (non-pro) girls. You need to have the right look, speak Spanish fairly well (unlesss she can speak English), and have game. Are you looking for a challenge?

Regular girls - you might go out to dinner with one but you likely won't get any pu*sy. So you waste your night meeting up with her, buy dinner, try to make small talk (best know espanol), buy her drinks, pay for her taxi home..... then, as she rides off into the night, you stand there feeling like you are in Florida.

I suggest trying to date a regular girl if you get bored with the hookers - don't do it for the challenge since it takes away from being in the land of NO RESISTANCE when the money is right. YMMV, of course!

Dont get me wrong, my main goal in my newbie trip to CR is to monger for all its worth. But (and thats a big but), if I get bored, then I will go after the civilians. I hope it doesnt come to that point. I dont want to shame my CRT bretheren.

Just bustin' balls. Don't worry about anything. Just go with the flow, and have fun. I don't know where you're staying, or how many nights you'll be in town, but it's doubtful that you'll get bored.

When you get to the point that you've had your brains ph*cked out seven ways from Sunday, and you're totally drained, and you need to re-charge your batteries, just walk around town (during the daytime) and take in the sights. Or take some type of day excursion. There's a ton of things to do (besides chicas), both in and outside the gulch.

Upon your return to the real world, after you've taken your 1st trip, make sure to write a Trip Report. Many of us will be curious to see how "boring" your trip was !!!

Start brushing up on your espanol if you're new to that as well, speaking even un poco can take you a loong waay.

My definition of a semi-pro here in CR is a chica that only works at being a hooker for 12 hours a day,7 days a week.

I think the regular Ticas are very open to meeting a gringo. Everywhere you go just smile and try to catch their eye. Many smiles will be returned unlike in the states. Of course speaking some spanish will be a great help. Supermarkets, bus stops, on the street everywhere really.

And if you do get a date with a regular Tica and take her out to dinner etc... if she likes you your chances of scoring the first night are quite high.

It is quite easy to chat up regular girls in CR and get dates with them. I am 42 (look about 32) and girls 20 years younger than me are very friendly and approachable.

But there are major issues with being a mongerer and dating regular girls. Are these girls looking for real relationships? If they are then you have to pretend to have serious intentions with them to get sex. In these cases its bad ju-ju and not worth the trouble.

Semi-pro's as you call them, or low-volume 1 or 2 night a week or end of the month pro's, can be the best and most fun to be with.

I also think, on the subject of pro vs non-pro, in many ways the man paying money directly for sex really positively clarifies a relationship. After all in this case whether you are with the girl for 1 hour or 3 days, there is a clear mutual understanding on both ends, however passionate you are for each other, that each of you will be ph*cking new people after you part, in very short order. And that is cool.

If you speak Spanish and even if you don't, but the desire is there, and you don't have an eye in the center of your forehead, (or if you do, its blue) it should not be a problem. There are a lot of discos and the like.

If you want to meet most of the well educated or normal girls go to places like the blues club just south of the round about by the Plaza or many of the tico establishments that are not for the Putas. Personaly if i were you I would travel alone and go to the outer areas or do like I did and hook uponline. I met my wife on ICQ seven years ago.
