Hi,

This is my first post...so any information would be helpful.

We are 4 guys (early 30's) planning a 5 day trip in July down to CR. I want to spend the time fishing and hanging out with sexy ticas. Here are a few questions I have that could help in getting all 4 of us on board.

Ideally, we would like to rent a very nice villa and splurge a little. We want to fish 2-3 days and party a lot too. I don't know the protocal for picking up ticas, but I don't want to book a charter service or villa that would make us feel uncomfortable. It would be nice to meet some nice ladies (p4p) that could hang with us for a few days.

1 - What type of weather should we expect in July? I heard it rains all day in the green season...is that true?

2. Any recommendations on town or charter services to use? We want to charter the boat for Sailfish, Marlin and offshore game.

I guess we could would ideally do 1-2 days in San Jose and 3-4 days at the Villa.

Any suggestions would be great.

You need at least one night in San Jose if you have not been. Stay at the Del Rey since it's your first time. Then head to Jaco and stay at Los Suenos. you can rent a condo 3-4 bedroom and fish out of their. Also pleanty of nightly entertainment in Jaco (Beatle Bar). I would look up www.costaricadreams.com for your fishing and lodging. They can also arrange transportation to and from San Jose. Have Fun.

MDC74: I suggest you do a search and also check out the newbies section. Using the search option you will find info. on everything you seek. I think most guys will obviously suggest the numerous fishing options on the Pacific coast (Jaco area, Quepos....). Also, I wouldn't limit yourself just to Ticas as you will find many chicas from other countries including many Colombianas... Have fun. Wile Coyote

MDC74,
Welcome to the board.
First, I'd recommend getting your VIP Membership. It's only $39, but it'll give you access to the entire website, including pics. It'll also give you discounts at numerous places, too many to list, but they're all listed in the Newbie section. I believe there's even a couple charter boats that'll give you a CRT discount. Hell, that'll pay for the membership fee itself!

Weather? Don't even concern yourself with weather.

Charter boats? Tons of them, and I haven't seen one yet that WON'T let you take your chica's along with you.

But, IMHO, you need to take some time to read this site. There's a ton of info here that will answer your questions. Any hotel that you stay at should be able to book you a charter boat. If not, just walk down to the marina in the morning, and you'll find plenty of boats available. July is the off-season, so there should be lots of boats available.

Finally, don't worry too much about anything. If you make plans ahead of time, they'll probably fall through. If I were you, I'd spend (at least) my 1st 2 nights in San Jose. Then you can decide if you want to go to the coast for fishing. Pura Vida baby !!! 8)

Mucho Gusto

You would stay the first night and the last in SJ. Expect to pay over a grand for a sailfish trip per day (for an experienced boat). Your ride to your fishing destination from SJ will be at least 2-3 hours by car. Your cleaner marinas will be to the North and South of Jaco. If you want to fly make arrangement at the airport. I beleive the smaller airlines is next to the SJO airport. They have a weight limit on stuff you can take on board.

I expected to fish during my stay last year as well. I stayed the entire time in SJ. I had too many activities (and ticas) to keep me busy. Everyone comming back from the beach said it was very uncomfortably scorching hot at the beach.

Wow...lot's of great info. Sorry it took me a little while to respond. I got called away at work and this was the first day back.

I'll take the advice and do a lot of searching on the boards...it is packed with info.

Mucho Gusto - I think I'll grab a membership...even if it is just to support the folks that run this site.

But, I do hear mixed things about the weather...I was told to get a nice villa/house because we will be trapped inside (not a bad thing with these ladies)

Toadtamer - It looks like the 1st and last night in San Jose (Del Ray)....3-4 nights in Jaco is the move. July 28th - Aug 2,3rd. Thanks.

Does anyone have any recommendations for beach front Villa's/Houses in Jaco? You can PM me or put it on the post....I would really appreciate it.
